In April 2018, the Governors of Shiplake CE Primary School took over the management of Shiplake Village Nursery
Shiplake Village Nursery was established in 1966 and has occupied its current premises since 1990. Currently, the Nursery is situated next to Shiplake Memorial Hall and field and is in close proximity to Shiplake CofE Primary School grounds. There is ample parking making it easy for drop off and collection.
On the 1st April 2018 Shiplake Village Nursery merged with Shiplake CofE School and is now managed by the Governors of the School. Combining operations has proved to be a positive move, improving experiences and outcomes for children, as well as ensuring a seamless transition to the Reception class.
We are delighted to announce that the Governors have now taken the decision to move the Nursery onto our main school site. We intend to make these changes in time for the start of the new school year in September 2022.
The move will have a number of benefits:
• Improving the experience for children
• Potential for expansion – we may look to extend opening hours for the nursery in line with school as well as potentially increase the number of places. This could make lives easier for parents with children in both settings.
• Improving efficiency – bringing nursery onto the main school site allows for more flexibility with staffing as well as reducing the running costs currently needed for two separate settings
We are working through the detailed plans of the move and will keep all parents informed as they progress.
We are Ofsted rated ‘Good’ are registered on the Early Years Register and both the voluntary and compulsory Childcare Register.
